Financial Aid

Vashon Center for the Arts offers our community a wide range of educational opportunities for all ages through our Vashon Center for Dance and Arts Education programs. While we make every effort to offer our classes at affordable prices, we recognize that members of our community may need financial help in order to pursue their passion for the arts.

The VCA Scholarship Program offers needs-based financial assistance to applicants. While we give priority to children and young adults, we consider applications from all potential students.

Scholarship recipients are expected to meet the following class standards in order to continue to receive financial support:

• Full attendance as defined by instructor.
• Full participation in all the program activities as defined by instructor.
• In good standing on any installment payment plan.

Scholarships may be awarded for up to 75% of the price of the class (please email our registrar at belle@vashoncenterforthearts.org if you are in need of additional assistance)

• Awards may not be transferred to another class.
• Summer camp awards are limited to up to two per applicant.

Scholarship funds may only be used for programming that is produced and managed by Vashon Center for the Arts.

Individuals seeking a scholarship must follow these steps:

1. Select the scholarship application below associated with the term the class is scheduled to run (Spring, Summer or Fall Term). Please fill out each section of the application in its entirety, select the class you are intending to take on the form and remember to hit the "submit" button. Your submission will alert our team and we will get back to you in 1-3 business days.
2. Once your scholarship application has been reviewed by our team our registrar will register you for the class you selected on your financial aid application. If the class is full you will placed on a waitlist. 
3. We will review your application, determine your award and apply the scholarship funds to your account. You will receive an email communicating your remaining balance and next steps. Once you have recieved the email, you will have 5 buisness days to follow up and ask additional questions. On the 5th business day payment will be processed for the remaining tuition fee balance.

Program Purpose:

To support and encourage a lifelong involvement with the arts. Scholarships exist thanks to the generosity of VCA donors. Each year, at VCA’s annual Gala Art Auction, much-needed funds are raised during the Special Appeal to fund the Blue Heron Education Center and Scholarship Fund. If you would like to contribute to the Scholarship Fund and help ensure that Dance, Arts Education, and Music are available for families regardless of their economic circumstances, please contact us at 206.259.3007.
