ON SALE 2027
Few artists are as beloved on Vashon as Pete Droge and Elaine Summers. Longtime islanders and partners in both life and music, the pair have returned to VCA's stage multiple times by popular demand — packing the house each and every time. We're thrilled to welcome them back once again.
Pete rocketed to early acclaim on the strength of his 1994 debut, Necktie Second, which prompted the Los Angeles Times’ Robert Hilburn to compare his songwriting to Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Rolling Stone deemed him “a worthy successor to the likes of Tom Petty.” Both Petty and Young would invite Pete on tour as their opening act. Elaine was always at his side as an integral member of his band. The couple can be seen on the big screen singing “Small Time Blues” in Cameron Crowe’s classic film Almost Famous.
Pete went on to form The Thorns with Matthew Sweet and Shawn Mullins, score films, and build a devoted following through decades of poetic, folk-inflected rock. Elaine Summers, celebrated on Vashon as both a mosaic artist and musician, has been Pete's creative partner for over 30 years — her instinct for melody and lyric shaped some of their finest work together.
Following three releases with their harmony-rich side project, The Droge & Summers Blend, 2025 saw the release of Fade Away Blue, Pete’s first proper solo record in nearly two decades. Produced by Grammy winner Paul Bryan, the album is a rich, deeply personal collection showcasing his tender lyrics and understated delivery at their very best.
Expect classic favorites, songs from Fade Away Blue, and the kind of warm, intimate performance that only two people who have spent a lifetime making music together can deliver. Don't wait on tickets — this show will sell fast!
