Science & Art Series: Painting Birds with Britt Freda
Ages: 15-Adult
Saturday, May 16 | 9 am-3 pm

Join naturalist Brendan McGarry from the Vashon Bird Alliance for a morning of bird watching in the Heron Meadow, then walk to the Blue Heron Education Center for a different perspective on our feathered friends. After refueling with bagels and coffee, Heron Meadow bird mural artist Britt Freda will lead a four-hour, acrylic and graphite painting workshop. Bring your favorite bird photos and/or a camera to photograph source material images during the morning birding walk. Acrylic paints and brushes will be provided. Participants with previous painting experience are welcome to bring their own materials.

If you plan to apply for financial aid for this class, you must complete and submit the financial aid application no later than 2 hours after you register.
