Hone your fluidity, expression, and grace in Advanced Lyrical! Lyrical dance is most often defined as a combination of ballet and jazz techniques, with emphasis on graceful, fluid motions that often mirror the lyrics or theme of music. Class will start with a center warm up including both standing exercises and workshops for jumps, turns, and falls to be used in phrase-work. We will use the second half of the class for traveling progressions and longer phrases/group dances. This class is for advanced-level dancers, and concurrent enrollment in Ballet is strongly encouraged. Students will spend a portion of class preparing for our Original Works production March 13-14 (for returning students). Following Original Works, students will learn a piece for our annual Spring Concert, June 4-7. Regular attendance is required in order to perform and instructor permission required. *Spring Concert performance fee included in tuition.
