Join us as we celebrate 60 years of Vashon Center for the Arts with a joyful, all-ages Birthday Bash on Saturday, June 20, from 3–6pm!
For six decades, VCA has been a place where creativity thrives, stories are shared, and community comes together—and now it’s time to celebrate that legacy with the island we love.
This festive afternoon will spill both indoors and out, filled with music, movement, memories, and plenty of surprises. Enjoy a lively performance by Vashon’s own Portage Fill Harmonic, jump into some line dancing, and explore hands-on arts and crafts for all ages. Come hungry—Iyad Syrian Food will be serving up delicious fare—and keep an eye out for door prizes, a treasure hunt, and a few extra delights we’re keeping up our sleeve.
We’re honored to feature the remarkable whale bones from Singer the Whale on full display, and inside the Blue Heron, you’ll find a special Memory Booth—a space to share your favorite VCA moments from over the years. Throughout the day, enjoy additional pop-up performances and creative happenings.
Bring a lawn chair, settle in, and stay awhile—this is a celebration meant to be shared.
As part of the festivities, we’re gathering photos and stories from across the decades. Have a favorite VCA memory? Send scanned images and a short description to info@vashoncenterforthearts.org, and we’ll include them in a community slideshow inside the Blue Heron during the event.
VCA has been a cornerstone of Vashon’s creative life for 60 years—bringing people together through art, performance, and shared experience. We would love to celebrate this milestone with you.
Plus, we’ll have a special treat in store to thank our incredible volunteers who have helped make it all possible.
Come celebrate, reminisce, and help us kick off the next chapter—together. 🎉
