Each June, VCA's Center for Dance presents a brand-new, full-scale production that celebrates our training and artistry. The Blue Heron Dance Company—supported by all of the students in our dance program—brings a story to life through ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and tap. Inspired by ancient myths, original stories, or fresh interpretations of classic themes, every Spring Concert showcases original choreography, dazzling costumes, and the technical and artistic achievements of our dancers.

The talented dance students of VCA’s Dance Program use the wide array of dance forms—Ballet, modern, tap, and more—to tell a story and explore a theme. The stories could be based on ancient myths, be a completely new work of fiction, or even a riff on a theme, but every spring dance concert is sure to feature original choreography unique to that production.
