Destination #1

Vashon Center for the Arts

Start your Garden Tour at Vashon Center for the Arts to take in the wonderful garden-inspired visual arts exhibition specially curated by Georgetown’s own studio e, walk the native ecology field next door, and buy a few raffle tickets while you’re at it. And the Orca Eats food truck will be at the VCA on Saturday and Sunday for picnic fare and grab & go food!

Through an eclectic group of works united by a common theme — “tree-ness”— the show emblemizes their makers’ connection to studio e as both gallery artists and talented friends of the gallery. The contrasting and varied approaches to the subject offered by these 20 or so artists range from new abstract expressionism to color field painting, to conceptual, video work and design, all of them contributing to and coalescing in the ecosystem of Tree. >Find Out More

Celebrate the official unveiling of the VCA native ecology field, which is being restored from an overgrown blackberry bramble over these many months to reflect the natural plant life on the island and where Vashon Nature Center partner to help bring art, science and community closer together on Vashon Island. VNC will be here to stroll the interpretive trail with you, share about island watersheds, native plants and species, and build a bird or bat box with you!

While you’re here, partake in the Garden Tour raffle for a chance to win many wonderful prizes!
