Merna Ann Hecht will present a lively participatory workshop on the art and craft of traditional storytelling. Through improv and individual and group exercises participants will "try on" different characters and emotions. Expect high energy participation with conversation about the primacy of traditional storytelling for transmitting wisdom and values, once a part of most every culture.

Pearl Django has been an audience favorite at the Blue Heron for years, and now we are excited to invite them to the big stage at Kay White Hall!

With a performance history spanning more than two decades, Pearl Django endures as one of the most highly regarded Hot Club style groups working today. Although the band’s roots are firmly in the music made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, its extensive repertoire includes traditional jazz classics and original compositions.
