PianoFête Day Two

Vashon Center for the Arts is proud to introduce a new summer classical piano series – PianoFête – presenting four dazzling and unique concert experiences featuring acclaimed pianists Vyacheslav Gryaznov, Katya Kramer-Lapin, and Konstantin Soukhovetski, with musicians from Vashon Maury Chamber Orchestra joining in on the Grand Finale (July 9). Conceived and curated by artist-in-residence Vyacheslav Gryaznov, this series will be the first time VCA’s Katherine L. White Hall will host two concert grand pianos on stage to accommodate the mastery of four hands playing compositions ranging from Rachmaninoff to Ravel.

Vyacheslav Gryaznov – Russian concert pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov, arranger and composer, is the author of more than 40 concert arrangements. He has gained a reputation as one of the most remarkable young arrangers working today. In 2014 Gryaznov signed a publishing contract with Schott Music, the youngest Russian in their history to do so. He graduated with honors from the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory where he studied with Professor Manana Kandelaki. He proceeded with undergraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Yuri Slesarev), once again completing his degree with honors. He continued at the Moscow Conservatory as a postgraduate student and was on the teaching faculty of the Moscow Conservatory’s Piano Department. In 2018 he completed Yale University’s Artist Diploma program under the Yale School of Music’s Professor Boris Berman. He is an artist of the Moscow Philharmonic and is an Artist-in-Residence with The Drozdoff Society in the United States. PianoFête marks Slava’s fourth return to Vashon Center for the Arts.

Konstantin Soukhovetski – 2019 Innovation Award Winner from Music Academy of The West, Konstantin has a uniquely diverse artistic voice that reaches out to both classical and popular audiences. In 2020 Konstantin joined the adjunct faculty of his alma mater The Juilliard School, where he received his BM, MM, and AD with Jerome Lowenthal. Konstantin’s post-COVID live performances include October 30th with Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, the debut of two-piano project SOLO DUE with Jacopo Giacopuzzi in La Jolla, CA, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. In February 2022 tour of Spain with appearances in St. Sebastian and Canary Islands.  In May 2022 return to NYC’s Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall with Pegasus: The Orchestra. In 2021 Konstantin returned to Pianofest in The Hamptons for his 10th year of Artist-in-Residency. In April 2022 Konstantin premiered ballet Encounters by Polina Nazaykinskaya for MorDance Company at Symphony Space, NYC. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Konstantin has recorded Polina’s piano miniatures on OClassica label, available on iTunes and Apple Music: Remembrance, Anticipation, and A Summer Rain. As a composer, Konstantin’s solo violin work Postcard from The Edge is featured on 2 different CDs of renowned violinist Elmira Darvarova. Konstantin is currently working on a libretto for an opera commissioned by Mississippi Opera, to premiere in the 2023 season. Learn more at: https://www.konstantinthepianist.com
