Learn to draw and paint landscapes from one of Vashon’s most talented artists. Each day will include demonstrations and drawing/painting exercises. Students will paint a large 18” x 24” landscape, completed by the end of the second day. All levels welcome! Materials list provided upon registration. Steffon Moody working as a theatrical set painter at the age of 16 for the Muny Opera in St. Louis. He learned the craft of set painting from his father, Robert Moody, and a crew of painters whose weekly task was to paint the scenery for an entire musical on one of the largest stages in the US. Steffon now teaches drawing and design at DigiPen School of Technology alongside stellar artists from Disney, Pixar, the gaming industry and the fine arts world.

Supply List for Plein Air Oil Painting Workshop
OIL COLORS : Titanium white, Quinacridone Magenta, Pthalo blue (green shade), Hansa Yellow Medium
ONE STRETCHED CANVAS: 18″ x 24″
BRUSHES : #4, 6 & 8 (depending on the brands, approximately 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch and 1 inch)
PALETTE -It could be just a piece of glass about 16″ x 20″, with white paper taped to the back; or a wooden palette.
DRAWING PAD & PENCIL – at least 8×11 inches
MINERAL SPIRITS & container for washing brushes
PAINT MEDIUM (If you desire) Steffon suggests Liquin. It speeds drying time.
RAGS Or Paper Towels
PORTABLE EASEL – Feel free to bring a portable easel if you have one, if not, we will provide an easel.
