Uncover the art and meaning of Dia de los Muertos as you create shrines, masks and garlands to honor your ancestors. Paint wooden box houses and decorate with sculptural pieces, collage and a hand-made sugar skull. Make masks adorned with Mexican art patterns and images to call in ancestral spirits, animals and loved ones and string harvested flowers together with needle and thread to create a beautiful garland to hang over your altar. Display your creation in a group exhibit complete with music, dancing and food during VCA’s Day of the Dead Celebration on Nov 2, 4-6 pm.
