Eugenie Jones is a Seattle-based singer/songwriter/producer with an international fanbase. Her critically acclaimed 2022 release, PLAYERS, ranks #30 on Jazz Week’s 2022 Top 100 Albums, rated #7 on the Top 50 charts, and was a contender in the Best Vocal Jazz Album Grammy® category. Described by critics as an extraordinary vocalist and cleverly gifted lyricist, the former Earshot Jazz Recording of the Yr. and Vocalist of the Yr. winner has recorded more than 30 original songs. Her music ranges from reimagined jazz standards to soulful jazz originals and R&B classics. You’ll find Jones on the cover of regional publications and glowing reviews about her incredible recordings, unrelenting drive, and exceptional creativity in every major jazz publication, including DownBeat, JazzTimes, JazzIz, and many other international publications. In person, she is an engaging and electrifying entertainer that will give you a unique experience you’ll not soon forget. For the Silk & Soul performance, Ms. Jones will be joined on stage by composer/pianist David Joyner, upright bassist Lamar Lofton, and drummer Brian Smith. The concert will feature the music of Nina Simone, Anita Baker, Dionne Warwick, and your favorite Jazz Classics along with Jones’ chart-topping originals!
Opening Act: Singer and multi-instrumentalist James Lee Murray
James Lee Murray is a soul singer and songwriter. Deeply influenced by blues and gospel, Murray draws his influences from greats like Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder. James has opened for Black Pumas, Son Little, Anderson East, Brett Dennon and more. In 2019, Murray released his debut album, RESONATE. Available on Spotify & iTunes.
Originally from Monterey Bay, CA, James and his family have just moved to Poulsbo, WA. Bringing with him 10+ years professional experience as a second-generation musician and professional piano tuner, James is continuing in his life’s work in music and is grateful to have discovered Kitsap County in all its natural beauty and cultural richness.
