VCA’S 2020 MASQUERADE GALA AUCTION UNLIKE ANY OTHER
As we all know, 2020 has been a year unlike any other. Like many arts organizations, Vashon Center for the Arts has had to pivot and embrace new ways of moving forward to keep our art programs alive and our community engaged. Our biggest annual fundraising event is no exception. Vashon Center for the Arts’ annual Gala Art Auction provides crucial funding for our programs and operations. It is also a much-anticipated community celebration that brings artists, patrons, audience members, students and our staff together in support of the arts on Vashon.
The success of our annual fundraiser fuels our programs each year, and we are committed to making our 2020 event a vibrant, engaging and worthwhile endeavor. How will we bring our event to 300 guests if we are unable to gather together in The Kay auditorium? We’ve hatched a plan and need your help to pull it off.
We will be transforming this year’s auction into a live stream virtual event and performance on September 25th – program highlights, special appeals, guest artists, and fabulous art and local treasures will be featured. But it’s not just one night–we’ve decided to turn our gallery spaces into a month-long auction for guests to come and see each item for themselves. Since our gallery has re-opened, we plan to showcase works and start the auction bidding on September 4th. Guests can visit our campus or view items through an online auction gallery available to our supporters who may prefer to bid from the comfort of their homes.
All auction funds raised will support VCA’s Resilience Fund and our Scholarship programs to help us sustain our center and continue to provide an exceptional art experience for many in our community who might otherwise be unable to benefit from our educational programs.
