The Vashon Center for the Arts Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Megan Clawson to the position of Director of Finance and Administration. Megan officially joins the VCA staff on December 15, 2020.
Megan comes to VCA with more than 25 years’ experience in finance and senior level accounting practices. With sound working practical knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and not-for-profit accounting standards, she fills an integral role on VCA’s leadership team and the Board of Trustees finance committee.
Megan’s professional work history in business management aligns with VCA’s commitment to providing a community center that brings islanders and families together to experience enriching arts programming. Most recently, Megan served for more than a decade as Controller with YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties where she effectively managed a multi-million-dollar budget across fifteen YMCA locations which included a wide variety of programs.
In her role at VCA, Megan will oversee the organization’s financial management, accounting, planning, and budgeting, as well as facilitate the external audit review process and preparation. In addition, Megan will administer VCA’s human resources administration. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from San Jose State University.
