This year is the first time Vashon Center for the Arts has hosted VIVA’s member show. Vashon Island Visual Artists’ (VIVA) annual show invites their members to showcase one or two of their pieces. It boasts participation of 100+ Vashon artists from their 300+ membership. This is an exciting exhibition that reflects the diversity of work and approach to art being created on Vashon Island.

The tall atrium walls of VCA and over 1000 linear footage in the Koch Gallery enable VIVA artists to display larger works than previous years of photography, paintings, prints, assemblage work and drawings. In addition, the atrium and gift shop provide more floor and display space for sculptures, pottery, jewelry and fiber arts.

When asked about the 2020 VIVA Members Show, Jean Echevarria, co-curator with the show’s organizer Kristen Reitz-Green, said, “The quality of work showcased this year is remarkable. In spite of all the adversities in 2020, the artistic heart of Vashon continues!”

The 2020 VIVA Members Show will surprise and delight those who come into the VCA Gallery this October. You are sure to find something new and beautiful to add to your art collection.
