Vashon Center for the Arts is launching its first free two-month Summer ArtsFest opening Friday, July 6, and running through Sunday, August 26. The ArtsFest will showcase and sell artwork by more than 80 Vashon Island visual artists in 45+ individual and collaborative exhibits held in the Koch Gallery, the Katherine L White Hall lobby, and various spaces on the Center’s campus. The festival will kick off with an opening party with live music and a performance of “ReWild” on July 6th at 5.30pm and have opening nights for new exhibits each Friday in July and August (except July 20th) All ages welcome.
Join workshops and demonstrations each Saturday. All free or with minimal supply cost. Special events include wood artistry techniques demonstration, one with a chainsaw; experiential clay table for kids, Japanese Tea Ceremony, Editing workshop for kids .
Workshops, demonstrations, participatory events, and music events are sprinkled throughout the ArtsFest on Fridays & Saturdays.
