A group show featuring Deborah Kapoor, Laura Ahola-Young, and Alyson McCrink, three enormously talented artists working in different media.
These artists, shown together. offer us three different entry points into a powerful visual conversation of pattern, shape and color. Ms. Young’s evocative work is based on the “study of murmurations, swarms and flocks” to combine a darkly powerful palette infusing patterns overlaid on manmade artifacts. Ms. Kapoor’s work picks up the conversation with elegant shapes and textures in subtle earthen shades. Ms. McCrink completes the circle with the layered and deeply colored exploration of the “otherworldliness of everyday situations.”
In VCA’s Fong-Wheeler Atrium through January 26
