Our Late Start Arts series provides enriching creative activities on Chautauqua Professional Development Days (PDD). Students arrive at VCA between 8:30–9:00 am on PDD Late Start mornings, and the Chautauqua bus will transport kids to school at 11:30 am. Late Start Arts is open to homeschoolers as well.Late Start world travel adventures continue with journeys to England, Tahiti, Ireland and more! Using lessons focused on geography, literature, drama and art, the K-2 Late Start program helps kids grow their sense of empathy, self-confidence and fun. Each session begins with a story, launching off to another region where characters come to life. A related art project helps students deepen their understanding of other cultures and traditions. Sue Wiley has written, directed, and produced plays for kids for over 20 years. Gerie Wilson is an award-winning teacher who co-created the multi-age, theme-based learning program at Chautauqua.
