As part of the December “Masters in Miniature” show, VCA will be showing a series of small paintings by Vashon artist, Bella Ormseth in the Kay Hall Atrium. She created the series based on nature photography posted on her Instagram account, @bella_ormseth_artist.
The nature photograph of a given month that receives the most likes became the subject of her painting. She gave herself 6 days to complete the painting, forcing her to think and paint fast.
Bella received a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990, and has taught art in the Vashon public schools. Bella has shown previously at VCA and Roq La Rue gallery. Find out more about Bella here: bellaormseth.com
