Community Involvement

A Design Based on Hundreds of Island Voices

Community input has been an integral part of the process. During 2010, VAA and LMN Architects conducted six group information-sharing meetings with selected public participants, including theater users and visual artists. VAA also provided three public meetings for the project in Summer 2011, along with an information booth at the 2011 Strawberry Festival. Approximately 500 visitors attended the presentations and gave their verbal and written feedback on the project. Approximately 90% of the respondents gave favorable comments.
