Vashon Center for the Arts is calling for artists to submit work to be displayed during our 2019 season. Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA) is a collaborative, community- based nonprofit organization. For the past 52 years, VCA has provided visual arts, performing arts, crafts, and classes for the Vashon Island Community.
Through our two galleries, VCA offers new exhibits every month for two to three artists, group shows, and occasionally solo exhibits. We are seeking works in painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, photography, pottery/clay, installation, glass, wood and fiber (or some other material or style if you have an idea!) and encourage proposals for group shows and guest curators.
Vashon Center for the Arts will be accepting proposals only by digital submission. All proposals for 2019 are due by October 15, 2018. Please include the following in your package:
- Five high resolution images of work: JPEG, 300 PPI, minimum size 8×10 or 2400×3000 PPI
- Brief description of each piece of work
- Artist Statement
Please note, although submission materials need not show the exact work you plan to exhibit, images should be representative of your current work.
Exhibits will be juried by a five-member panel of professional artists from Vashon Island, representing a variety of media. The panel will meet shortly after the deadline date and notifications to artists will be made by November 15, 2018.
