VCA will stage a thematic gallery show in October: #MyMeToo. This is an open artist call for all gender identities.
All media types are welcome. Artists will be asked to submit a narrative describing the impetus behind your piece. The narrative may also be a story that inspired you to create the piece. Narratives should be 500 words or less. Longer narratives will be considered on a space available basis.
Artists may submit more than one piece of art work; however you should prioritize the primary piece in the event that space becomes limited. The decision of where and how the pieces will be displayed is at the discretion of VCA. Any art work that is deemed not in the spirit of the #MyMeToo theme will not be accepted.
There will be a People’s Choice Award and a Sponsor’s Choice Award given out on opening night, October 5
Please submit the “Intent to Submit” form by July 30 to be included in the show.
Art work should be delivered to VCA September 26 – 28 during business hours.
The artist can determine if the art work will be priced to sell or labeled NFS. 60% of all work sold will be paid to the artist. 40% of the proceeds will be used to pay for the free #MyMeToo workshops being offered this summer and the community forums in October.
